Spot illustration assignment
For an assignment in their Illustration II class, Remy Wilkins ’26 (illustration) visually interpreted a scenario in which humans and a pack of wild animals coexist in the same house.
Students in the course were tasked with creating a spot illustration to accompany an existing article from a newspaper, magazine or book of their choosing that didn’t already have an associated image with the text. A spot illustration is, in an editorial context, a standalone visual meant to add interest and depth to a topic. Wilkins chose an article headlined, “Living in Harmony with Raccoons,” which prompted a digital illustration of a “group of rambunctious raccoons making themselves at home in someone’s living room.”
The class is taught by Lecturer Allen Douglas.
