Stop Motion Studio
The studio comes alive in this stop-motion video by Lloyd McCullough ’18 (advertising photography).
He created the short in assistant professor Rachel Jerome Ferraro’s Photographic People class, for an assignment requiring students to incorporate a motion element into a portrait. The video creates the illusion of photography and lighting equipment setting itself up and taking a portrait.
Earlier in his RIT career, Lloyd learned stop-motion techniques — specifically animating people and large objects — in School of Film and Animation associate professor Tom Gasek's Alternative Frame by Frame class. He found those acquired skills to be useful in many ways.
"I think the stop-motion technique allows you to have a lot of freedom to experiment with physics that aren't quite possible otherwise," Lloyd said.
