A body of work by RIT photography and related media MFA student Nell Pittman.
"These photographs of a woman living by herself in the wilderness are an extension of the road trips I took during my childhood," Pittman said. "After my father’s death, my mom and sister and I would leave our home for months at a time as a means of escaping our situation. Making these images forces me to revisit how it feels to rely on nature, for both one’s physical as well as mental well-being. Through this series of photographs, I am thinking about life and death and what it means to be human."
