Karuna Mukherjea and Deepak Sharma came from far away to attend RIT. The couple believes it was destiny that brought them together. Both from India, they found a welcoming university and community on campus.

An interdisciplinary team of RIT students finished No. 1 in North America and third globally in the Bloomberg 2023 Global Trading Challenge, marking the first time the university has participated in the international competition.

Dwight M. “Kip” Palmer, a fifth-generation CEO of Palmer Food Services and the Palmer Family of Companies, has been named the 2023 recipient of the Herbert W. Vanden Brul Entrepreneurial Award, given annually to a successful individual or individuals who developed a business that improved the Rochester economy or whose innovative management skills changed the course of an existing business or industry.

Saunders College of Business at RIT has again been recognized by Poets&Quants—a leading resource for business education coverage—as one of the top undergraduate business schools in the nation. Saunders ranked 53rd overall in the nation, moving up two spots from last year.

Students on the RIT men’s lacrosse team are looking to “pump up the jam” at the NCAA national championship game on May 29. Last year, RIT’s undefeated season culminated in the university’s first Division III lacrosse national championship. The team has a chance to go back-to-back, when it faces off against Union College in the 2022 championship game at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Hope Drummond BS ’91 is founder of Dreamseeds Children’s Program, is an RIT Trustee, and is being honored by Saunders College of Business.

As students begin to move off campus, the annual Goodbye, Goodbuy! sustainability program returns next week at RIT, where unwanted items otherwise discarded are collected, sorted, and later offered for sale to incoming students at thrift store prices.

RIT’s Albert J. Simone Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, created to help students invent and problem solve through experiential learning, offers multidisciplinary student teams a stipend for the unique opportunity to examine their businesses and, for some, move them to the next level of development.

RIT’s partnership with Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), in India, has expanded to allow VIT students to spend the latter two years of their undergraduate business studies in RIT’s Saunders College of Business.
