Campus Life specializes in organizing major weekends and festivals that celebrate our campus spirit and allow students to create memorable moments all year round. Beyond big events, the team supports student clubs and organizations, providing the resources and expertise needed to make events successful and impactful.

Student Club and Organization Events

Campus Life reviews and approves all events and programs sponsored by student clubs and organizations. Clubs and organizations must follow the Campus Life event planning process as well as university event rules and regulations and other relevant event policies. For inquiries about the event process and policies, please email studentevents@rit.edu.

Contracts and Agreements:

  • Any student club or organization that hires a performer, service provider, or facility must work with the Campus Life Finance Team to create a contract or agreement, even if the provided service is free. Students are not permitted to sign any contracts or agreements on behalf of the university or their student club/organization. 
  • Student clubs and organizations may request contracts for:
    • Speakers or guest lecturers
    • Live Performances including musicians, DJs, and comedians
    • Off-campus venues, such as banquet facilities or hotel event space
    • Services including production, design, and photography
    • Food Trucks or Catering

Tech Crew:
RIT’s Tech Crew provides technical production support for events held on RIT’s campus. Supporting more than 600 on-campus events annually, Tech Crew provides sound, lighting, power, and staging services for various events including concerts, conferences, banquets, performances, and more. Tech Crew is comprised entirely of student employees and managed by RIT professional staff.

Facilities:
Campus Life oversees several key buildings on campus, including the Campus Center, Student Alumni Union, Monroe Hall, and the Kilian and Caroline Schmitt Interfaith Center. These vibrant hubs for student life offer gathering spots, lounge areas, classrooms, meeting spaces, dining options, places of worship, and more.
