Exhibition Loan Request

The Cary Collection has loaned material to exhibitions held at national and international museums including:

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Los Angeles, CA

The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, CA

The National Design Museum, Zurich, Switzerland

The National Museum of American Art, Washington, DC

Maison Européenne de la Photographie, Paris, France

The Garage Center for Contemporary Culture, Moscow, Russia

To initiate the exhibition loan process

Send a formal request letter to the email or mailing address to the right at least nine months in advance of the exhibition opening. Following the ACRL/RBMS Guidelines for Interlibrary And Exhibition Loan Of Special Collections Materials, the request letter should detail: 

  1. Title, dates, and location of the exhibition
  2. What material is needed and how it will be displayed
  3. Recognition that the borrower assumes responsibilities for costs related to the loan
  4. Please include with this letter a completed facilities report
