Gallery r presents CO-LAB, a group exhibition of collaborative projects by RIT students from the Schools of Art, American Crafts, Design, Film & Animation, and Photographic Arts & Sciences.
Gallery r presents Hunter/Gatherer – Rochester Connections: Works from the Gerald Mead Collection, on view November 4-20, 2016. This survey exhibition consists of over 40 artworks in all media by Western New York artists selected from the substantial art collection of Gerald Mead, and focuses on artists with current and historical ties to the Rochester community, whether current residents or with connections to RIT, Visual Studies Workshop, the George Eastman Museum, Nazareth College and more. The selection of work is a testament to Mead’s extensive passion for the art communities of Western New York, and to Rochester’s place within it.
Part of the annual RIT Alumni Spotlight Series, Gallery r presents THREE: A group exhibition featuring Rebecca Arday, Meng Du, and Namdoo Kim: all are RIT Alumni and studio residents in the Glass Program of the School for American Crafts.
Part of the annual RIT Faculty in Focus Series, Gallery r presents Denton Crawford’s solo exhibition Savage Sanctuary. Crawford, a visiting assistant professor in RIT’s School of Art, presents a selection of painting, sculpture and installation inspired by pentecostal and pop imagery, addressing the mystery and oddity that spreads from religious and cult mentalities. Mixing sacred iconography with science fiction and using a hyper-neon color palette, Crawford blends contemporary elements to question ancient and modern visions of spiritual devotion.
Forces at Work highlights selected work from students working and studying within RIT’s College of Art and Design, bringing together a variety of work in Painting, Drawing, Printmaking, Photography and Video, Ceramics, Furniture Design, Metals and Jewelry, Sculpture and Installation.
A celebration of creativity and teaching from Rochester Institute of Technology's Master of Science in Teaching's grads and their K-12 students. Please join us for a wonderful exhibition of artwork from 8 regional school districts.
Completing this exhibit will be artwork representing many of the MST faculty, alumni, and the cooperating teachers who worked with the MST students.
Gallery r presents the Senior Illustration Exhibition, featuring capstone projects by students in the Illustration program, which provides students for a variety of careers within the visual communications field, including advertising, publishing, editorial, gaming and entertainment industries.

Gallery r presents the student-run exhibition and publication release of DRAFT 13, which for the past twelve years has featured the work of photography students at Rochester Institute of Technology. This year, DRAFT 13 presents the work of 31 artists from schools throughout New York State including RIT, Syracuse, School of Visual Arts, Pratt Institute, SUNY Purchase, Parsons School of Design, and the University at Buffalo. Original DRAFT 13 hardcover ($25) and softcover ($15) editions will be available for sale. The show is on view for three days only, March 6-8.
Tangible Effects features the work of seven seniors in RIT’s School for American Crafts, representing work in Furniture Design, Metals & Jewelry Design, and Glass.
Featured artists in the exhibition include Rachel Barone, Kelsey J. Hatlestad, Alexander Morrison, Cassandra R. Olsson, Derek Roche, Sam Samek, and Ryan Sullivan.
Attractive Nuisance features the thesis work of six fine art studio seniors, celebrating the hard work and achievements and marking the beginning of the next phase of their journey as emerging artists. The exhibition incorporates a variety of processes including drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, installation and video.
Food: A Celebration of Diversity is an exhibition that shares the cultural and culinary diversity of the Marketview Heights neighborhood of Rochester, with photographs of select residents, their kitchens and community gardens by RIT photojournalism student Audrey Horn.
Delving In is an exhibition that showcases rigorous and creative research in the visual arts and imaging sciences. The show features faculty, graduate and undergraduate projects from each of the six schools in RIT’s College of Imaging Arts & Sciences: Art, American Craft, Design, Film & Animation, Media Sciences, and Photographic Arts & Sciences.
