Bio
Welcome to CaPS! Here at RIT you can find me in the Student Health Center. My purpose in working with students is to gently shine a light into area’s that prevent you from thriving. At times College can be stressful, and it can be especially challenging when physical or emotional symptoms impact your functioning. For years I have supported clients to restore hope and possibility, so they can have access to choice and control about their future. I do this with an understanding of the developmental needs of college students, bringing a warmth and sensitivity to the therapy process.
During my graduate studies at the University at Buffalo, and throughout my career, I have been greatly influenced by learning how individuals develop resilience. Resilience factors involve how we handle our stress, develop our self esteem, a sense of purpose in life, social skills, empathy, our sense of humor, and our physical well being. Lifestyle factors influence all of this, and a special interest of mine is how small changes in lifestyle can further our healing in other areas of our lives.
When I am not with students, I enjoy spending time with family, hiking with my dog, discovering new vegan restaurants, and visiting the finger lakes.
