Championing Veterans: How J'nez Thomas drives impactful change

J’nez Thomas‘20 builds community by championing veteran success. As first runner-up for the 2023 Ms. Veteran America national competition, she’s found versatility in communication, a core military skill, transcends any profession and walks of life. She continues to actively advocate for Veterans equality on local Ohio-based podcasts, professional speaking engagements and educational seminars. She is currently engaged in penning her journey “Subject to Change” which chronicles and documents how a trek in the past can significantly impact professional leadership development.

J'Nez served in the United States Army as a Supply Sergeant and Equal Opportunity representative, as a program specialist in the civil service sector for the Federal Bureau of Prison inmate work release programs and as a regional Ohio state Account Manager for a Fortune 200 CPG company. Most recently, J’nez was awarded the first organic and hair removal Sugaring NYC studio in Ohio. She has served as a past Co-chair for Veteran Employee Resource Group SALUTE and has made significant contributions through highlighting the unique skill set that veterans bring to the corporate table.

As a firm believer that Diversity & Inclusion is Professional Development that does not operate independently of each other, she is a leader and advocate for “equity for all” and reminding that people are the core of business ideology, product development and strategies.
