    The coaster contest was a thrill ride for RIT’s Theme Park Enthusiasts student group at the annual Ryerson Invitational Thrill Design Competition. For the second time since the competition began, the club won first place overall at the competition.

    Student Spotlight: Ph.D. student receives two awards for research

    While attending the 2019 American Electrophoresis Society (AES) annual meeting at the Scix conference, Nicole Hill, a microsystems engineering doctoral student, received two awards for her research: The Federation of Analytical Chemistry and Spectroscopy Societies (FACSS) first place Poster Award and the Wiley Innovation Award.

    Student Spotlight: From studying abroad to a master’s degree

    Lucie Le Scolan came to RIT from Rennes, France, on a study abroad trip last fall as a graduation requirement for her former school. Once she completed her five-year engineering diploma, she decided to return to RIT for her master’s degree in engineering management.

    Open Department Head Positions

    Reporting to the dean of engineering, the department heads provide visionary leadership to advance the mission of their respective departments. Responsibilities include recruiting and mentoring excellent faculty, expanding scholarship and sponsored research, developing innovative and relevant curricula, managing department resources, promoting successes to internal and external audiences, and demonstrating a commitment to diversity and inclusion. Appointments at the rank of full professor will be considered with an anticipated start of August 15, 2020.

    Student Spotlight: Exploring engineering through Hot Wheelz team

    RIT Hot Wheelz is a student-run Formula SAE Hybrid racing team that offers hands-on experience for female-identifying students interested in learning more about racing vehicles. Hannah Sones, a second-year industrial engineering major from Medina, N.Y., joined the team during her first semester at RIT.
