Artist Talk and Demo with Aya Oki '14 MFA (Glass)

RIT Glass is hosting Aya Oki '14 MFA (Glass) on Tuesday, Nov. 5, as part of its Visiting Artist Lecture Series.She will provide an artist talk followed by a group discussion prompted by RIT Glass' semester theme of "Color" at 11 a.m. in Booth Hall, 3634. Oki's visit will then conclude with a demo at 2 p.m. in the hot shop (Booth Hall, 3670). All are welcome to the events.Oki is an artist who was first introduced to glass at Aichi University in Japan before coming to RIT to earn a graduate degree. She has since been exhibiting and teaching internationally, developing new work within various artist residencies and fellowships, and was selected as one of the 100 artists included in New Glass Now, a global survey of contemporary glass, which is currently showing at Corning Museum of Glass.
