Deaf Culture Awareness Day at Seneca Park Zoo

Join us for a celebration of Deaf culture at the Seneca Park Zoo from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, November 4, 2023.

Explore animal habitats, including elephants, red pandas, and baboons. This event also features students from RIT’s Environmental Studies program who will present their capstone projects at a table and ASL storytelling coordinated by Rochester School for the Deaf.

Fourth-year students from RIT/NTID’s Bachelor of Science in Interpreting program will provide pro-bono interpreting services throughout the zoo as part of their graduation requirements. If you require professional or DeafBlind interpreting services, contact the Seneca Park Zoo at 585.336.7200.

The zoo offers discounts for RIT/NTID students, staff, faculty, and alumni who plan to attend this event. Bring a valid RIT ID to get discounted tickets.

More details about student transportation coming soon.
