Wallenberg is Professor of Fashion Studies at the Centre for Fashion Studies at the Department of Media Studies at Stockholm University. She earned a PhD in Cinema Studies from Stockholm University in 2002. Her research has focused on issues dealing with gender, sexuality, class and ethnicity in cinema and fashion, as well as in organization and management. Currently she is involved in an interdisciplinary research project dealing with women's representation and experiences from working in the Swedish film industry. She is the co-editor of Fashion and Modernism (Bloomsbury, 2020).
