"Reframing History Through Lens and Legacy: A visual dialogue between Bernie Boston and the Ramsey-Lemon Archive" is a University Gallery exhibition exploring and highlighting the Ramsey-Lemon Family Archive as an example of Black life in response to historical events in the 20th century as depicted by photographs from Pulitzer Prize-nominated photojournalist and RIT alumnus Bernie Boston '55. Historically, photography has been used by the Black community to create their own representation to combat media-pushed stereotypes that detrimentally affect the community.

A discussion about the exhibition with student curator Athena Lemon and Assistant Professor Joshua Rashaad McFadden is set for 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, in University Gallery.

The exhibition is on view Feb. 7-March 9. Images in the show are from the Ramsey-Lemon Archive and the RIT Archives' Bernie Boston collection.
