Mental Health First Aid Training

This session will be facilitated in ASL. No interpreters will be provided. Light refreshments will be available.

You must be able to attend all three training sessions (Tuesday, Nov. 14, Wednesday, Nov. 15, and Thursday, Nov. 16 from 4:30-7 p.m.) in order to participate in this training.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a skills-based training course for anyone who wants to make their community healthier, happier, and safe.

Through this training, you will learn:

  • How to describe and talk about mental health, openly and non-judgmentally.
  • Approach, reassure, and support fellow RIT community members when they are struggling with their mental health.
  • Exploration of what self-care looks like for you and practical applications of self-care.

If you have any questions, or you need clarification on anything, please do not hesitate to email Beau Gibbs at bmghcw@rit.edu.

You will need to complete 15 minutes of pre-work BEFORE attending the training.

Thank you for your commitment to making RIT a more mentally well campus.
