Orientation is a series of events, activities, and opportunities developed to assist you and your family as you transition to life at RIT. You’ll establish a place within the RIT community, build community, and connect with campus resources before classes even start.

Aug. 26-30, 2024

Start off the semester right with a roaring welcome to RIT! During the first week of classes, take part in TigerFest. You’ll get a chance to connect with other students, learn about different resources on campus, and discover ways to get involved.

Rochester Fringe Festival

Sept. 10-21, 2024

The Rochester Fringe Festival is a spectacular celebration of the performing and visual arts. RIT arts come to life at the Fringe. Last year, RIT students, faculty, staff, and alumni participated in 38 performances and exhibits.

Crisp air and crunchy apples mean it’s fall in Rochester! Kick-off RIT’s annual seasonal celebrations with FallFest. Join us for a variety of events sponsored by different departments and student clubs and organizations.

Brick City Homecoming and Family Weekend

Oct. 18-20, 2024

This yearly tradition honors RIT’s families, students, alumni, staff, and friends of the university. Get involved in one of the many Brick City happenings: check out one of our distinguished speakers, enter the Brick City 5k race, cheer on our Tigers at sporting events, and more!

FreezeFest

Jan. 27-Feb. 8, 2025

Grab your gloves and embrace the cold during RIT’s annual winter celebration, FreezeFest! This longstanding campus tradition features multiple days of festivities, including hot cocoa tastings, ice skating, and more. Be sure to keep an eye out for Roarie, FreezeFest’s white tiger mascot.
