Yes, the program is open to U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, and U.S. permanent residents. On the application form you will be required to confirm your status.

The AI-PROWIL program prioritizes Ph.D. student applicants, enrolled in one of the eligible graduate programs at RIT. That said, we will also consider other students. If you are a US citizen, US national, or US permanent resident, and you will not graduate before the next spring semester, you may apply. Since pre- and post-phases will require engagement on campus, applicants should be within driving-distance to Rochester, NY.

Funded fellowship participants will receive an academic year stipend. For additional support provided, visit Applications and Benefits.

In this program, you will be treated with respect, and we welcome students of different ages, backgrounds, beliefs, ethnicities, gender identities and expressions, national origins, religious affiliations, sexual orientations, abilities – and other visible or non-visible differences. All members of this program are expected to contribute to a respectful, welcoming, and inclusive environment for everyone. We are committed to providing a safe learning environment, free of harassment and discrimination.
