RIT presents: ‘Communication is Key: Land a Professional Career You’ll Love’
Leading professionals in their fields will discuss the importance of strong communication skills in getting and keeping your dream job as part of a panel discussion hosted by Rochester Institute of Technology on Jan. 31.
“Communication is Key” is sponsored by the RIT chapter of Lambda Pi Eta National Communications Honor Society and will be held 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. Jan. 31 in Liberal Arts Hall, room A205. The free, public event will include a discussion of interviewing techniques and job search best practices and highlight the experiences of professionals working in a wide variety of fields.
Panelists include Kyle Edenzon, U.S. Department of Defense campus representative at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf; Mark Peterson, president and CEO of Greater Rochester Enterprise; and Joseph Testani, a special agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigations and coordinator of the Rochester Joint Terrorism Task Force.
“This event will be great for any RIT major looking for a career they want to love,” says Chyna Trible, president of the RIT chapter of Lambda Pi Eta. “It will be especially helpful for those interested in any aspects of careers in the public sector or with the federal government.”
Lambda Pi Eta is a national honor society promoting scholarship and outreach in communication and public relations. RIT’s Xi Upsilon chapter is sponsored by the Department of Communication.
