RIT Hosts Famed Tabla Musician Sandeep Das as Artist-in-Residence

Grammy-winning tabla musician Sandeep Das worked with RIT students and performed a concert during his Delhi to Kabul residency during the spring semester of 2024. He was joined by members of his Harmony and Universality through Music (HUM) ensemble.
Das and the ensemble offered master classes and pop-up workshops throughout the four-day residency. Das also participated in a panel discussion on Tradition, Innovation, Communication, and Collaboration alongside RIT faculty members Joel Hunt (Visiting Assistant Professor, School of Performing Arts), Jay Alan Jackson (Associate Professor, School of Interactive Games and Media/School of Mathematics and Statistics), and Seshavadhani Kumar (Professor, School of Mathematics and Statistics).
