    SNL’s Leslie Jones to perform at RIT’s SpringFest

    Comedian Leslie Jones, a cast member and writer on Saturday Night Live, is the featured entertainer for this year’s SpringFest. This year’s theme is “Decades,” and each decade, starting with the 1970s, matches events on that day.

    REDCOM donates equipment to telecom lab

    REDCOM, a long-time partner of the telecommunications engineering technology program at RIT, recently donated its call control software to the university to provide students access to the latest technology being used for digital and IP-enabled telecommunications networks.

    ThermApparel partners with MS Foundation

    ThermApparel, a company in RIT’s Venture Creations business incubator, is partnering with The Multiple Sclerosis Foundation to provide its lightweight cooling vests free of charge to people living with multiple sclerosis who meet certain income requirements. Read more and watch a video.

    Gaia, a company founded by RIT alumni, was featured in an Inc. article listing the top eight “Coolest College Startups” as named by the Student Startup Madness competition at South by Southwest. This company is almost entirely run by RIT students and alumni.

    RIT holds data hackathon April 13-15

    DataFest, a national event sponsored by the American Statistical Association, will take place at RIT from April 13 to 15. Student teams will have 48 hours to mine a complex data set pertaining to a real-world problem, then find the best solution.

    Michael Laver, chair of the Department of History at RIT, has been named an ACE Fellow for the 2018-19 academic year by the American Council on Education. The program identifies and prepares faculty and staff for senior positions in college and university administration.
