Cross-cultural exchanges and delegation visits are important components of the PEN-International project. The cross-cultural exchange program strives to strengthen each participant's cultural and personal identity and helps students develop an understanding of the diverse cultures that affect our world. Delegation visits to PEN-International and NTID, and by PEN-International representatives to current and prospective partner and organization sites, are necessary to increase visibility of the program and ultimately expand and improve postsecondary education for the deaf around the world.
