A collection of paintings on display at NTID explores deafness in a unique and powerful way. “Rise Up: Silent Margins,” a collection of 17 paintings by RIT/NTID alumna Ashley Hannan, runs through Feb. 23 in NTID’s Dyer Arts Center.

“Cultivating Connections: Growing Communities in the Flower City” showcases artwork representing the local community. “6x6 Deaf Pride” features more than 100 artworks created by members of the deaf and hard-of-hearing communities. Both exhibits run through Dec. 15 at NTID’s Dyer Arts Center.

Using augmented reality to make STEM content more accessible to deaf and hard-of-hearing learners in live presentation settings is the goal of a $258,000 grant from the National Science Foundation awarded to NTID.
