About John Williams
John Williams is a longtime Rochester resident. He holds an A.B. degree from Duke University and a J.D. degree from Stetson University College of Law.
John had a thirty year career as an attorney at Thomson Reuters and its predecessor companies. In his second career, he was a development officer for Garth Fagan Dance, Literacy Rochester, and ImageOut Film Festival. Currently a member of the Board of Trustees of Geva Theatre, he previously served on the Board of Directors of many organizations, including the Little Theatre Film Society, the Association of Fundraising Professionals Genesee Valley Chapter, the Foundation of the Monroe County Bar Association, and the Friends of Eastman Opera. John was honored by the Rochester Area Community Foundation with a 2017 Philanthropy Award.
John is a longtime donor to such arts organizations as the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Finger Lakes Opera, and Garth Fagan Dance. He is a pianist who regularly performs his repertoire of American popular music at Rochester-area private clubs, residences, and senior living communities.
