- Daily Crime Log
Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) the RIT Public Safety Department must publish a daily crime log for any crime that occurred on campus or within the patrol jurisdiction of the department and is reported to Public Safety directly. The daily crime log includes the offense title, offense date, time, a brief description of the crime and the general location the crime occurred. The log is designed to provide crime information on a timelier basis than the annual statistical disclosures. A crime must be entered into the log within two business days of when it was reported to the campus police or security department. At times, certain information may be withheld to protect victim confidentiality, to prevent hindering an ongoing investigation, or to keep a suspect from fleeing. Any portion of the log that is older than 60 days can be made available within two business days of a request for public inspection.
