He first joined Crystal Semiconductor/Cirrus Logic in 1994 as a digital designer working on digital to analog converters and codecs for professional and consumer audio. Joining RF Micro Devices (Qorvo) in 1998, he led the creation of the first mixed-signal design team at RFMD. This team architected and developed Wireless LAN chipsets and upon release of these products, he transitioned to a Director of Engineering role overseeing mixed-signal development including 802.11b/a/g/n chipsets and the development of CDMA transceivers. After a brief stint in a power startup, in 2008 Eric transitioned back to Cirrus to focus on mixed signal power solutions including power factor correction, TRIAC dimmable LED lighting, automotive audio amplifiers and boosted amplifiers for mobile solutions and well as battery management solutions for mobile devices. In 2017, he created the Systems Architecture team at Cirrus with a focus on creating innovative solutions for customer problems as well as diversifying product opportunities. Members of this team have continued to make significant contributions in fields such as audio amplifiers, inductive sensing, as well as Li-Ion battery management solutions including fuel gauges, chargers, and brownout prevention circuits. He is a member of the Cirrus Logic Patent Committee, and he currently holds 115 patents with multiple applications pending.
