Color science students win best poster awards at AR/VR Symposium

Yanmei He and Eddie Pei earned top honors at the AR/VR Symposium on Oct. 25 at the University of Rochester. He, a second-year color science graduate student, won first place for the poster “Facial Color Matching in Optical See-Through Augmented Reality,” co-authored with Christopher Thorstenson, assistant professor in the College of Science. Pei, a fourth-year color science Ph.D. student, won third place for “Simultaneous Lightness Contrast Effect in Augmented Reality,” with co-authors Susan Farnand, associate professor, and Michael Murdoch, head of the Integrated Sciences Academy in the College of Science. Their research contributes to advancements in visual perception modeling for augmented reality systems.
