Water Quality 101
Water Quality 101
Water quality for a particular waterway is the current condition of the water in that ecosystem. Every waterway has a different capacity for handling natural changes in the environment, such as heavy rain or leaching from the soil, or unnatural changes imposed by pollution.
Erie Canal Curriculum
Environmental Education on the Erie Canal (E3C) is a project that turns the Erie Canal in the Rochester area, often viewed only as a historical and recreational resource, into a testbed for STE2M education. The E3C project combines canal field excursions aboard the replica canal packet boat, the Sam Patch, provided by Corn Hill Navigation (CHN), with hands-on water quality and ecology lessons, provided by Delta Environmental and CHN.

Stream Sampling
Water pollution affects us all. Although there are no easy solutions, our hope for the future is a generation of informed and concerned citizens working together to alleviate the problem. Unfortunately, even we, as adults, don't always know how to contribute to help. One valuable contribution we can make is to guide young people as they learn what to do and determine a course of action.
