Bruce Austin
Bruce Austin is Director of RIT Press, the Institute's scholarly book publishing enterprise. His academic training is in mediated communication. Before coming to the Press, he was Professor and Chair of the Department (now School) of Communication for 15 years. Bruce Austin was curator for the RIT exhibit "The American Arts & Crafts Movement in Western New York, 1900-1920" as well as the "Frans Wildenhain, 1950-75" exhibition at Bevier Gallery and Dyer Art Center. His writing ranges from scholarly research on the audiences for theatrical motion pictures to journalistic reporting on antiques for a number of periodicals.
