Laural Hartman
Laural was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She obtained her BFA in Illustration and MS in Secondary Education from RIT. Currently, she teaches Drawing and Graphic Design courses in the Visual Communications Studies program at NTID. When Laural is not teaching, she works at Dirtybeardpress, a letterpress studio she founded in San Francisco. “As a Deaf person, relying on four out of five senses, it was only natural for me to have an urge to touch. I saw how the tactile nature of the paper, with its overlapping colors and patterns, evoked richness and depth.”
