Wendell Castle + Josh Owen

A Wendell Castle and Josh Owen collaboration for The Support for Knowledge project; a design project to assist the internationally renowned RIT industrial design program grow into a new facility that will mirror its status in the world. For this inaugural project launch, two experienced makers, Castle and Owen, applied their individual approaches and different vocabularies to jointly create a pair of bookends. Each designed one half of the set. Their goal was to produce an object set where each side has its own distinct style, yet successfully interacts with the other side to create a holistic design conversation for the pair.
