PROPOSERS DAY:

The DARPA Strategic Technology Office (STO) will host a Proposers Day supporting DARPA-PS24-21, Trenton program on October 10, 2024, via webinar from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM (ET). This conference aims to provide information on the Trenton program, promote additional discussion on this topic, address questions from potential proposers, and provide a forum for potential proposers to develop teaming opportunities. The Proposers Day will include overview presentations by DARPA personnel and a question and answer session following the presentations. Questions and answers will be posted to SAM.gov after the event. The Proposers Day will be held at the unclassified level.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVE AND DESCRIPTION:

The Trenton program seeks to enable underwater three-dimensional concrete printing (3DCP) through the development, refinement, and optimization of printable formulations and fabrication hardware.  The overall goal of Trenton is to demonstrate that underwater 3DCP is possible. Trenton's objectives include the development of additive construction methodologies and chemistries to support the in situ manufacturing of concrete structures underwater in support of various Department of Defense (DOD) use cases, including coastal infrastructure reinforcement and bridge repair.

The Trenton program will require the development and optimization of printing formulations and fabrication methods. Formulation includes all aspects related to the development and optimization of underwater 3DCP material chemistries. Performers are expected to leverage and refine existing formulations to the maximum extent possible and must be mindful to avoid potentially toxic materials while developing formulations. Fabrication for Trenton will include aspects of hardware development that enable 3DCP from a land-based system into water at the bench scale. Performers are expected to leverage and adapt existing land-based 3DCP for printing underwater. The inclusion of structural reinforcement to 3DCP structures is not a requirement for Trenton phase 1. However, discussions regarding solutions for adding reinforcements and future integration are welcomed.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION:

DARPA hosts Proposers Days to promote teaming arrangements between researchers, provide potential performers with information on whether and how they might respond to the government's research and development solicitations, and to increase efficiency in proposal preparation and evaluation. Therefore, Proposers Days are open only to registered potential proposers.

Those wishing to attend the virtual Proposers Day must register no later than October 4, 2024, at the following website: https://events.sa-meetings.com/TrentonIndustryDay/. All participants must register through this registration website. The webinar link and further directions on webinar access will be provided to attendees once registration closes. There is no registration fee for attending this conference.

All U.S. Permanent Residents and Foreign Nationals must submit a DARPA Form 60, except foreign government personnel who must submit only an Official Visit Request completed by their respective Embassy based in Washington, DC.

All forms must be submitted no later than 1:00 PM on October 4, 2024. Form 60 submission instructions are provided on the registration website and in the registration confirmation email. Contact your Embassy staff for assistance in submitting the Official Visit Request. Upon entry to a physical meeting, all attendees will be required to present valid, government-issued photo identification.

The Proposers Day will be Unclassified. All U.S. Citizens are required to submit a U.S. Citizenship Verification form in order to attend this conference. Non-U.S. citizens are required to submit a DARPA Form 60 "Foreign National Visit Request." Both documents are available for download at the registration website.

Potential proposers may choose to distribute their contact information to all other Trenton Proposers Day attendees. The registration website will ask registrants to indicate whether they approve the distribution of their contact information.

If you have any questions, please email the Special Notice Mailbox at DARPA-PS-2421@darpa.mil.

DISCLAIMERS AND IMPORTANT NOTES: The Proposers Day does not constitute a formal solicitation for proposals or proposal abstracts. Attendance is voluntary and is not a prerequisite for responding to any potential future solicitations. DARPA will not provide reimbursement for any costs incurred to participate in this Proposers Day.
