Final Term – Part-Time Enrollment
Undergraduate students must be enrolled full-time (12 or more credits) each term in courses required for the completion of their degree in order to receive their RIT/NTID scholarships and grants. There is an exception to this rule; if students are in their final term of coursework and no longer have enough required courses remaining to be enrolled full-time, they would only enroll part-time in just their remaining required courses. Their RIT/NTID scholarships and grants would then be prorated based on the number of credits their final required courses are worth.
RIT/NTID scholarships and grants normally cover a specific percentage of a student's full-time tuition charge. Prorated RIT/NTID scholarships and grants will cover that same percentage of the lower, part-time tuition charge. Tuition charges are listed on the RIT Student Financial Services website. The part-time tuition charge for a student's only remaining required courses and the associated prorated RIT/NTID scholarships and grant funding will equal a cost savings.
Students would be required to reach out to their Academic Advisor to have them complete and sign a Part-Time Enrollment for FINAL Term form confirming the following:
- Student's final semester/term of study
- Student's final number of required credits for degree completion
The academic advisor will then need to email the form from their RIT email account to the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships (ritaid@rit.edu).
Please note: The proration of RIT/NTID scholarships and grants does not apply to students who have been accepted into an undergraduate Applied Arts and Sciences program on a part-time basis.
