International BS/MS Partnership Program

Earn a Master’s degree from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and a Bachelor’s degree from University of Shanghai for Science & Technology (USST) in Packaging Science in just five years through the accelerated international BS/MS program. Students will study for three years in China at USST and two years in the USA at RIT.

The MS degree in packaging science is designed to educate packaging professionals to become experts in the packaging development process. Students learn how to select raw materials, design, and create packaging to withstand environmental hazards during transportation, and to create aesthetically pleasing packages to pique consumer interest.

Admission Requirements

Students who are currently in their third year in the Department of Packaging Engineering at Jiangnan University may apply for admission to the International BS/MS program.

*Students applying by March 1 will receive priority consideration for admission and scholarship support.

Applicants will be considered based on the following criteria:

  • Excellent Academic Record - cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher recommended
  • English language proficiency - TOEFL iBT score of 79 or IELTS score of 6.5 is recommended. Applicants with lower scores will be considered for admission and required to take additional English classes at RIT
  • Research interests and experience
  • Motivation and aptitude for graduate study

*Application fee and GRE not required for Jiangnan University students applying through the International BS/MS program.
