The new undergraduate students come from 48 states (all but Iowa and Wyoming); Washington, D.C.; Puerto Rico; Guam; U.S. Virgin Islands; and 47 countries, with the largest contingent coming from India, Canada, and China. In addition, there are 927 new graduate students.

Over the last year, RIT students, alumni, faculty, and staff have worked to give back to the Rochester community by leveraging art and design. From providing creative outlets for young students to making a shelter to protect residents from the weather, RIT community members are dedicated to giving back to the city where they blossomed into the professionals they are today.

RIT grad’s art ‘New Tricks’ featured on the cover of ‘The New Yorker’
RIT alumnus John W. Tomac ’03 (illustration) has recreated The New Yorker’s iconic dandy Eustace Tilley as a dog for the cover of the magazine’s February 2023 issue, which is on stands now. Tomac’s artwork, called New Tricks, continues the tradition of The New Yorker’s annual February anniversary issue displaying a different artist’s version of the magazine’s mascot.
