Clay Patrick McBride recently photographed new rapper LaTheGoat while his archived portraits of DMX are being used to promote the late artist's posthumous album "Exodus."

Three fourth-year advertising photography majors—Jordan Hundelt from Seattle, Julia Abbonizio from Downingtown, Pa., and Bianca Ranciato from Wallingford, Conn.—won gold at the the 2021 Rochester ADDY awards, which honor the best in local advertising and cultivate the highest creative standards in the industry.

RIT’s Creative Industry “Day” drew a wide range of talent seekers from companies such as Amazon, Forbes Media, and Microsoft last week, as the 16th annual event went virtual Feb. 22-26 this year due to the pandemic.

The $3.5 million project includes state-of-the-art editing labs and major upgrades to the student lounge and photography equipment cage.

"Alien Xmas," a 40-minute stop-motion animation special directed by Stephen Chiodo '76 (Professional Photographic Illustration), premieres Nov. 20 on Netflix.

A one-credit workshop allowed RIT students to examine ways of sharing more accurate depictions of a complex topic. The class culminates in an exhibition that opens Nov. 5. 

From New York City to Seattle and Washington D.C. to Minneapolis, Minn., RIT photography alumni and faculty have captured powerful moments from the widespread protests calling for police reform and racial equality. 

Photography student Will Moran '20 reacted swiftly to create Cabin Fever, an online publication highlighting work by artists while in quarantine. 

Photography alumni Sam Cannon '14, Pari Dukovic '06 and Steve Giralt '07 engaged a Zoom audience of students, faculty and alumni with examples of their work, insight into their career paths and industry trends amidst the coronavirus pandemic.

Sam Kang '19 (Photographic Sciences) organized a Facebook group where photography alumni are reviewing graduating seniors' portfolios.
