  • Gain Confidence As You Explore: You’ll spend up to two semesters exploring the dynamic suite of courses, majors, and career paths the College of Engineering Technology has to offer–all before you decide on a major.

  • Get Hands-On From Day One: A significant facet of the curriculum is the Exploration Seminar, a course where you’ll engage in individual and team-based projects related to each major. This approach enables you to uncover your unique interests, understand your preferred learning style, and clarify your career aspirations.

Majors You’ll Explore

Each of the majors in the College of Engineering Technology majors are rooted in technology-based applications and feature hands-on learning in modern labs. Whichever major you choose, you’ll gain a foundation in practical theory and the knowledge and skills necessary to analyze and solve the complex challenges of today and tomorrow.

  • Civil Engineering Technology BS–Address the complex challenges posed by our nation’s growing infrastructure needs, including sustainable construction, water resource management and the improvement of our transportation systems.
  • Computer Engineering Technology BS–Utilize hardware and software for a range of uses, from medical diagnostic equipment, missile guidance systems, and anti-lock braking systems, to autonomous vehicles and smartphones.
  • Electrical Engineering Technology BS–Develop an in-depth understanding of electrical and electronics theory for its application, design, and implementation within electrical and electronic systems.
  • Environmental Sustainability, Health, and Safety BS–Expand beyond the theory to advocate sustainable practices which support environmental protections, as well as methods to champion policies making industries cleaner, safer places for their employees.
  • Mechanical Engineering Technology BS–Understand how products and machinery work, along with and how to design, manufacture, and use technology to develop mechanical systems for high-performance automobiles, aerospace systems, bioengineered devices, energy technologies, and more.
  • Mechatronics Engineering Technology BS–Drive the design and development of smart products via the integration of electrical and mechanical systems. Enhance and automate traditionally mechanical creations that in electronics involve electronics, mechanical systems, computers, imaging and sensing, automation, and robotics.
  • Packaging Science BS–Combine engineering, design, and business to infuse science and marketing principles design and marketing into product packaging for food, cosmetics, electronics, retail, and consumer goods.
  • Print and Graphic Media Technology BS–Leverage your passion for technology, art, and design to become a highly-skilled, in-demand professional in the production of cross-medium graphic media, including publishing, marketing communications, and packaging graphics.
  • Robotics and Manufacturing Engineering Technology BS–Pioneer innovation in advanced manufacturing, transforming industries like aerospace, automotive, electronics, and consumer products by combining quality and supply chain with a strong background in robotics and automation.
