Dean Mozrall’s latest “Advancing Business” column in the Rochester Business Journal explores Resitality® and the evolution of hospitality trends finding their way to both home and office.

The Herbert W. Vanden Brul Entrepreneurial Award, presented by Saunders College of Business, is annually given to a successful individual or individuals who developed a business that improved the Rochester economy or whose innovative management skills have changed the course of an existing business.

Saunders College of Business celebrated the expansion and renovation of Max Lowenthal Hall with a ceremonial groundbreaking Aug. 31. RIT President David Munson and Saunders College Dean Jacqueline Mozrall were joined by donors E. Philip Saunders, Susan Riedman Holliday, Chance Wright, Brigitte Gueldenpfennig, and Dinah Gueldenpfennig Weisberg during the college’s annual welcome picnic.

Monroe County Post references a $1.25 million gift to Saunders College of Business from RIT alumna Susan Riedman Holliday, vice chair of RIT’s board of trustees, that will help fund a planned building expansion.

Saunders College of Business has been awarded a grant of up to $500,000 to establish an online life sciences Executive MBA entrepreneurship program. The new degree will be formed in partnership with RIT’s Kate Gleason College of Engineering, College of Science, and Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences. 

Designed by LaBella Associates, the renovations will almost double the size of Saunders College of Business's Max Lowenthal Hall. Existing spaces will also be renovated.

Kiersten Kennedy, a senior at Dansville High School, and Ella Sexton, a senior at Livonia High School, are recipients of this year’s annual E. Philip Saunders Endowed Business Scholarship. The students have been accepted at Saunders College of Business, where they will begin classes in the fall.

The gift from alumna and vice chair of RIT’s Board of Trustees, Susan Riedman Holliday ’85 (MBA), will fund the creation of a 6,000-square-foot fourth floor signature event space, comprised of a conference hall, reception gallery, and wine room–all featuring expansive views of the RIT campus.

The majority of the donation will support renovations to existing spaces in Max Lowenthal Hall, home of Saunders College. Classrooms and common learning spaces on the third floor will be renovated, as will a seminar room on the first floor.
