Co-sponsored by the Office of Career Services and Cooperative Education and the Office of International Education and Global Programs, the Study/Work Abroad Fair is an excellent opportunity for employers to provide information to prospective students seeking international opportunities.

Study/Work Abroad Fair Survival Guide


Before the Fair

  • Attend a Study Abroad 101 Meeting
  • Research different study abroad programs
  • Research the different organizations attending
  • Talk with your academic advisor on fitting International Experience into your program

During the Fair

  • Check-in with your RIT ID
  • Review what locations and international experiences fit with your program at your college table
  • Ask questions to the employers on programs, applications, scholarships, etc.
  • Talk with study abroad alumni students on their experience

After the Fair

  • Search study abroad programs through Compass
  • Learn more about work abroad options through our International Experience page
  • Make an appointment with study abroad advisors or the co-op office for next steps
  • Discuss opportunities with your family

No, you will be collecting information and networking and getting your questions answered.

No; this is not a career fair therefore no suit is required.

No. When you attend the fair, Career Services Office will have a table and you will be able to ask us any question on that day.

Abroad Organization Info

Register

Register for the Study/Work Fair through Career Connect. A Career Services Coordinator will work with your organization to determine whether the fair is a good fit, or if other recruiting options would be better suited for the needs of your organization. Please do not schedule travel until you have received your confirmation.

Fees

The registration fee is $125 for the fair and includes two recruiters, a 6-ft-long skirted table, as well as lunch.

We accept American Express, MasterCard, Visa and Discover only. A link for your payment will be provided once your registration is confirmed.

  • If a company cancels their registration 30 days or more before the event, their credit card will be reimbursed through the Nelnet system. 
  • If cancellation requests are received within 30 days or less of the event, fees will not be refunded.

Shipping

If you plan to ship your display materials in advance, plan to have your materials arrive no earlier than 2 weeks prior to the event and no later than the day prior to the event.

Hotel Accommodations

For your convenience, here is a list of hotels that are near RIT.

Parking

Parking for the Student Alumni Union will be in D, V, or E Lots. Parking passes can be acquired at the Welcome Center on campus. Before you park, you can pull into the roundabout to unload your vehicle. Vehicles cannot be left unattended, so we will have staff available to stay with your car and help you unload and direct you to the fair. A campus map is available at maps.rit.edu.

If traveling from out of town, consider utilizing UBER, LYFT, or a hotel shuttle service where possible and NOT rental cars.

Yes. When you arrive on campus for the event, please go to the parking attendant in the Information Booth and he will direct you to parking lot D, V, or E.

Yes. There will be instructions when you arrive on how to access the RIT wireless network.

You may bring your company marketing materials, applications if you require them, and giveaways are also common.

There will be room for a small tabletop display.

Last year the event drew more than 250 students; however, we anticipate a larger turn out this year.
