All College of Science students are required to complete experiential learning such as a co-op, REU, paid research, or research for credit before graduation.

Accelerated BS/MS Degrees

The College of Science offers 20 pathways for combined accelerated Bachelor’s/Master’s degrees allowing students to complete two degrees in as little as five years.

Undergraduate Research Scholars Annually

Each year at graduation, we honor a strong cohort of undergraduate students who made significant research contributions such as pursuing a long-term project, presenting at a national conference, or publishing in a peer-reviewed publication.

Science and Math Clubs

The College of Science is home to over 15 student-led clubs and organizations out of the 300+ clubs on campus. Our clubs are dedicated to science and mathematics including Pre-Vet Club, Society of Physics Students, and PiRIT (our math club).

    In and out of Africa

    Africa is rich in natural resources and contains one of the most diverse ecosystems across the globe. The Sahara Desert itself is larger than the continental United States. With all the unique landscapes, wildlife, and growing urban areas, more than 30 RIT faculty have recognized the importance of traveling to the continent, all backed by RIT Global.

    Student spotlight: Outside opportunities provide academic growth

    A research project during Mohammad Saif's undergraduate career drew his attention to imaging, and now he has focused his academic career in remote sensing. Opportunities outside of the lab and the field have helped him learn how to better communicate and discuss the impact of his work.

    Saturday Math Academy offers extra help

    The program is a supplemental instruction session offered to all RIT students looking for one-on-one help for introductory math courses. The program aims to boost mathematics understanding across campus since all students must take a math course to complete their degrees.
