Hans Schmitthenner

It began in 2015 with a research grant, a team of undergraduates, and an outstanding mentor. Today these RIT alumni are developing new cancer therapies, celebrating a patent, writing in science journals, and teaching the next generation of scientists.

Han Schmitthenner, research faculty from the College of Science, awarded $25K from the Foundation for Women's Wellness (FWW) to develop molecularly targeted photosensitizer (MTPS) probes used in photodynamic therapy (PDT) to kill cancer cells.

Professor Hans Schmitthenner is designing molecular imaging compounds that will target prostate cancer cells and light them up with contrast dyes.
