About

The Office of Educational Effectiveness Assessment (EEA) provides leadership and centralized support for assessment processes focused on fostering academic quality and advancing institutional effectiveness. We collaborate with the campus community to facilitate meaningful, manageable, and sustainable assessment practices.

The Educational Effectiveness Assessment Office has the following goals:

  • Champion effective assessment processes to improve student learning and academic programs
  • ​Support achievement of RIT’s General Education Student Learning Outcomes using RIT’s Gen Ed Assessment Plan and Faculty Engagement Model​
  • Advance institutional effectiveness across RIT's administrative units
  • Collaborate with the campus community to ensure the university meets the required assessment standards for accreditation
  • Provide accessible technologies, resources, and assessment results to support continuous improvement initiatives 

What We Assess

The Office of Educational Effectiveness Assessment coordinates university level assessment of student learning outcomes, including academic program and general education outcomes. Additionally, we collaborate with all RIT divisions to ensure that administrative units are measuring their goals and use assessment results to inform and guide continuous improvement (enhancing operations, planning, guiding decision making, allocating resources, etc.) in support of the Vision, Mission, and RIT’s Strategic Plan.

Consultations and Services

The Office of Educational Effectiveness Assessment provides specialized consulting related to assessing program level goals and student learning outcomes. Additionally, we offer professional development services to academic program department chairs, program directors, and assessment leaders.  

Services

  • Customized workshops to support assessment for programs, departments, administrative units, or colleges
  • Assistance with the design of academic degree program level outcomes assessment plans
  • Assistance with the design of administrative unit assessment plans
  • Assistance with the design and implementation of general education rubrics
  • Assistance with the completion of the annual Progress Report
