Mr. Andrejko has taught at and served as Chairman for University at Buffalo’s Department of Architecture, co-authored the book Passive Solar Architecture: Logic and Beauty, contributed to several editions of Architectural Graphic Standards, served on the Sustainable Building Technology Committee in the development of the International Green Construction Code (IGCC), and has served as a team expert and team leader for numerous SDAT’s – Sustainable Design Assessment Teams, where he has assisted regions and communities throughout the U.S. on sustainable future planning efforts. He received a B.Arch. at Arizona State University and an M.Arch. in Advanced Studies at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Outreach

Dennis maintains active involvement with the American Institute of Architects, both locally and nationally.  Dennis was elected as Vice President to the National Board of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), and served from 2011 through 2012, heading the Board Knowledge Committee that oversaw the knowledge portfolio of the Institute.  He also served as President of the Buffalo/Western New York Chapter of the AIA; as State Director for AIA New York State; and as Regional Director on the National Board of the AIA (2006 thru 2009). While on the National Board his portfolio has included service with Strategic Initiatives, Sustainability, Education, Licensing, Sustainability Continuing Education Criteria, the Board Community Committee, and Committee on the Environment (COTE) Co-Chair (2009).   He held a Council seat on the National Academy for Environmental Design (NAED). Dennis remains strongly connected to the local community, exploring various forms of scholarship of engagement as one method of an architect’s role in contributing to the improvement of healthy, livable and resilient communities.

In addition, he has been a contributor to several AIA publications including - The AIA Guide to the IgCC – AIA’s guidebook on the International Green Construction Code; Integrating Energy Modeling in the Design Process – AIA’s Guide on energy modeling and high performance design; and 50 to 50 – AIA’s Sustainability Resource for Carbon Neutral Design.
