3-Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition Prep Session

3MT 3-minute thesis founded by the University of Queensland

3-Minute Thesis (3MT) presentations are concise, three-minute research talks given by graduate students. The format emphasizes effective communication of complex research to a non-specialist audience, typically with one static slide. These presentations promote effective communication skills, public engagement, networking, and professional development.

This prep session will provide strategies for presenting your research concisely and persuasively. Receive tips on public speaking, slide design, and body language to ensure your delivery is confident, clear, and impactful. Get answers to questions, share insights with fellow participants, and collaborate in a supportive environment. Engage in interactive exercises to practice condensing your research into a concise format, with constructive feedback from experienced facilitators from the Expressive Communication Center.
