Artesano Bakery & Café - Pecan Blondie Chewies
Artesano Bakery and Café’s very own student employee, Jolie Crunelle, is bringing a limited-time-only treat that you can pick up the week of April 4-8.
Jolie is a second-year biomedical engineer student and worked with Lindsay White, pastry sous chef at Artesano Bakery and Cafe, to design a special recipe that will also be offered as vegan – pecan blondie chewies.
“Pecans and butter are staples of Charleston sweets, and this dessert can usually be found at potlucks and picnics. These delicious pecan blondie chewies are similar to a blondie but gooey,” says Jolie. Jolie has been practicing veganism for the last two years and wanted to transform this recipe to accommodate other students who are vegan by swapping out the butter and eggs for vegan alternatives.
