ASL Lecture Series: Edgar Correa Veras
Join us for a presentation by Edgar Correa Veras, associate professor, Federal University of Amazon, UFMA Brazil. ASL Lecture Series features Higher education and sign language policy by and for Deaf students: How 144 Deaf students earned Master's degrees and 82 earned Doctoral degrees in Brazil.
The presentation will cover:
- Researchers as Deaf Community allies
- Overview of Brazilian Deaf Community
- Recognition of Sign Language in Brazil
- The Letras Libras undergraduate course
- The use of Sign Language in Thesis and dissertations
