Bruce Ian Meader Memorial Service
RIT's Vignelli Center for Design Studies is still mourning the loss of its friend and colleage Bruce Ian Meader. Meader passed away on Jan. 14, 2024, in his home in Abbott, Texas, at the age of 68.
Meader was a professor in RIT's graphic design program for 26 years until his retirement as Professor Emeritus in 2019. He was a longtime friend and supporter of the Vignelli Center. Meader was a beloved teacher to his many students, being characterized by them as amazing, generous, mentor, friend, and a lover of fine typography in graphic design.
A memorial event will be held at 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16, in University Gallery (Booth Hall, second floor). It will include remarks from Vignelli Center founding director R. Roger Remington, Vignelli Center Director Josh Owen, College of Art and Design Dean Todd Jokl, and Pastor Jared R. Stahler.
