The College of Science LGBTQ+ community and allies will come together on Friday for an all day celebration of queer excellence in STEM! Events include a mixer, guest lecture, and community panel. All are welcome to attend as your schedules allow. See full details below.

LGBTSTEM Day Mixer
9:00am - 11:00am | Gosnell Atrium
Join the COS LGBTQ+ Inclusivity in Science Club and the COS DEI team for a celebration of queer excellence in STEM! We'll have light refreshments, a poster to sign, displays of LGBTQ+ scientists throughout history, and resources for allies. You can stop by for a minute or the whole time.
Guest Lecture with Dr. J. Nic Fisk: Embodiment, Collaboration, and Identity in Biomedical Research
11:00am - 1:00pm | 2300 Gosnell Hall
Join COSLISC to learn about Dr. Nic Fisk's ('16) journey through academia and their contributions to our understandings of cancer and interdisciplinary education of marginalized student populations. A pizza lunch will follow the seminar.
LGBTQ+ Experiences in STEM Panel
3:00pm - 4:30pm | A300 Gosnell Hall
Join us for a panel discussion with a mixed group of College of Science students, faculty, and staff to learn about the experiences of LGBTQ+ scientists and students and brainstorm ideas for how we can make STEM an even more inviting, collaborative, and ground-breaking space.
