I have taught college Calculus almost every semester for over fifty years. Have I learned anything about teaching or learning Calculus?

Abstract:
I taught my first class in Calculus at the University of Rochester in the fall of 1968. Since then I taught at least one section (mostly Calculus I) almost every semester. Over the five decades I thought I was figuring out how to do the job well and then something would periodically happen to change the game fundamentally, for example an affordable calculator. I want to talk about what I have learned and about where I have failed in the teaching.
