FREE Admission for all RIT Students with student ID.

Film introduced by Dr. Rebecca DeRoo, Professor, School of Communication.

Hiroshima Mon Amour, the first feature by Alain Resnais, is one of the most influential films of all time and a masterwork of the French New Wave. A French actress (Emmanuelle Riva) and a Japanese architect (Eiji Okada) develop a brief, intense affair in postwar Hiroshima, which brings forth memories of love and suffering. With a creative flashback structure and an Academy Award–nominated screenplay by Marguerite Duras, this groundbreaking film artfully interweaves past and present.

Film with English subtitles.
