Gathering Thoughts: Conversations about Hostile Terrain 94 and Undocumented Migration
Join us for a time to discuss and reflect.
Three professors (Dr. Anthony Jimenez of Sociology, Dr. Juilee Decker of History and Museum Studies, and Dr. Christine Kray of Anthropology) will share their thoughts about how the Hostile Terrain 94 exhibition fits into the larger pictures of immigration and illegality; museum strategies for display and community engagement; and the US agricultural economy. Then, we invite everyone who has been part of this exhibition—students, staff, faculty, and members of the Rochester community, including those who viewed the exhibition and those who helped build it—to share your experience and what the exhibition means to you.
Free and open to the public. Sign-language interpretation provided upon request, subject to availability. Make your request at: https://myaccess.rit.edu.
This discussion is in conjunction with the Hostile Terrain 94 exhibition, which will run Oct. 27-Dec. 5 in the hallway outside University Gallery (3765 Booth Hall). For more on the exhibition and all related events and activities, see: http://tinyurl.com/HT94RIT.
